Wedding Surprises!

What a whirlwind day for our wedding couple Kacy and Jordan! They appeared on the show for the Kleinfeld's Bridal Fashion Show. Kacy got to take a peek at so many beautiful options for gowns- be sure to tune in on their wedding day to see which one she chooses. While Kelly and Carley Roney from The Knot helped with the big decision-making in the studio, Regis kept the Groom Jordan and his buddies occupied with a few rounds of ping pong.

Bride and Groom were reunited in the studio at the end of the show and Regis and Kelly revealed that one of their favorite singers, American Idol winner Taylor Hicks, will perform for them on their special day! They were also shocked when they received their gorgeous wedding rings from A. Jaffe. Their daughter Rylea also loved playing with her parents shiny new rings.

But even more excitement was happening behind the scenes... Kacy got to chat with the beautiful Kate Hudson backstage and both Kacy and Jordan got to spend a few moments with singer k.d.lang after her incredible performance on the show.

A Message From John

Kacy and Jordan and their families and friends... are incredible people. I'm working on a segment that will air on the day of their wedding. It is a segment that will show that these people are more then just a "horrible accident". They were warm, funny, loving people before "life hurled a curve ball" at them... and they're still warm, funny, loving people after the "awful curve ball".

I really have enjoyed getting to know the wedding party. There is a lot of class and grace in the way they all look out for each other... and the way they all treat each other. I've learned a lesson or two from these folks.

A Message From The Bride!

Jordankacy200px_4 Wow, here we are in New York!!!! What an experience! We left Cinncinati at 7am on Sunday to begin our fun journey here. Our flight went very smooth and the weather was warm when we got here. The size of the city was overwhelming compared to our small hometown of Garrett. Sleeping has been a real problem we found out that we were coming. The excitement has kept our minds going. We are so grateful to Kim for writing the letter and to everyone at Regis and Kelly for this opportunity.

Monday was an exciting and busy day. We started our day at 9am at the ABC studio. There we got to watch the show with our family and friends before they took me down for a makeover. The make-up artists were great and made me feel like a princess. Jordan, being himself, was the life of the party with a smile and tons of jokes to follow. Then we got fitted for our tuxes and dresses. The tuxedo fitting was fun. Jordan was treated like a king and the people were great. Kleinfeld opened their doors graciously for me to find the perfect dress. It was so easy since the help was great.

Tuesday was an early day, getting up to be at the studio by 7am. Once again we went into make-up and got ready to be on the show. We were so nervous just before going on but managed to keep our composure. The show went great and was loads of fun. Then on to the taste testing for our cake! Yummy Tavern on the Green sure can bake cakes. We got to look at albums from previous years and we know how great ours will turn out. Walking through Central Park was absolutely amazing. The fountains were beautiful, returning to see it all in the summer would be awesome.

The experience has been so much fun. I can't wait to see what is in store for us the rest of the week.

A message from Marco

Marco_2So last week, our wedding team here decided to send me out to Cincinnati, Ohio, to ambush our wedding couple..What I thought was going to be a quick and easy trip, turned into something very different..I mean, as a producer you see a lot of things...You see the good, and the bad...I thought I was pretty prepared for this situation...Boy was I wrong...After we arrived in Ohio, we headed over to the Shriners Hospitals for Children to meet up with Louise, who is their publicist...We worked on a way to execute the actual ambush and set up our video conferencing system on our Macbooks..Shriners doesn’t feel like a “hospital”..It felt more like a place of hope and rehabilitation...After we set everything up, we headed out to dinner with Louise and called it a night...The next day, we woke up and headed back to Shriners..That’s where it got to us all, me and my 2 cameramen...We saw little kids, burned from head to toe, walking around..At first I was saddened and taken back...Just to see these little innocent kids, burned and changed for life...Hassan (one cameraman) called his daughter right away and told her he loved her...I thought about my little nieces and John (the other cameraman) looked at pictures of his kids...It was really sad...But, once we met the wedding couple, I saw things in a different light..You’re first reaction is woah, look at that...Then you talk to them and see, it’s something on the outside..You start to see how beauty really is only skin deep...After talking to the couple for about an hour, We set up the ambush and surprised them with their wedding...They were so excited!!! So were we...We realized how we had just taken something so traumatic, and changed their lives forever..The kids, I mean, are so adorable...Once you sit down and really see that despite the bandages, they’re normal little kids who laugh and say cheese when they see a camera..It’s hard at first because as a culture we’re all so inclined to stare and see that someone does not look like us but once you realize how beautiful someone really is, how strong they are in a time of crisis, you almost forget the outside...We hung with them for a couple of days and headed back to NY...They are truly a deserving couple...I’m honored to be a part of something that has changed a couple’s life, and the people around them, forever...
